Whether you have a home shop with power tools, but feel intimidated or uncomfortable with hand tools, or are a true beginner, this is the course for you. At the end of the workshop you will understand the nature, use, and maintenance of the principal groups of hand tools: chisels, planes, handsaws, and measuring, marking and layout tools.

Learn to file (sharpen) your own Western style saw, and to put a truly keen edge on chisels and plane irons. Bring your own tools, tune them up, and learn how to effectively integrate these traditional tools into your own woodworking repertoire. Many believe that if they cannot jig up a cut or procedure, then the design needs to be changed. Not so. Don't let an inability to use hand tools limit your projects.
