Take your electric sander with its tangled cord, noise, and dust and put it away. Suddenly, the proper preparation of a wood surface will be well within your sights. Starting with only a block of select hardwood and a premium Hock iron and chip breaker, you will build a tool to treasure, and you will learn to use it effectively as well.

In this workshop, students mill their stock, cut and glue the body parts, shape their plane to their own design, prepare and set the blade, fit the wedge, and flatten the sole.
