One of the secrets to a successful project is careful stock selection and preparation. Your wood has to be flat, square, and parallel. This 2-day workshop will cover all aspects of milling lumber from rough-sawn to smooth, flat, and straight.

First, students will completely mill a small board with just a handplane, square, and marking gage. This exercise teaches the proper sequence of operations for achieving critical accuracy. Later, students will learn how to use the jointer, planer, table saw, and chop saw for fast, efficient, and accurate stock preparation.

In addition, the workshop will cover: wood selection, machine set up, straightline ripping, and resawing.
