Ken Nuttle started his career in 1981 Chester County, Pennsylvania as finish carpenter. Honing his skills he eventually focused on high end homes throughout Chester County. It was from this start that he spun off into custom cabinets , architectural mill work and furniture.In 1990's Ken, along with his wife Beverly and their three children moved to the Endless Mountain region of Pennsylvania, where he began to concentrate on building custom hand made furniture while pursuing a rural life style.
In 1992 Ken began a working relationship with one of the premier furniture shops in Chester County Pennsylvania allowing him the opportunity to concentrate on building eighteenth century furniture.
In 2001 Ken was presented with the opportunity to join the Historic Cabinetmakers staff at Colonial Williamsburg in the Anthony Hay Shop. Working with Mack Headley and the Hay shop staff, Ken had the opportunity to further hone his skills in a true eighteenth century style shop and broaden his knowledge of eighteenth century furniture and cabinetmaking.
In 2003 Ken was offered a position in the Architectural Mill work Shop at Colonial Williamsburg where he remained until 2006 when he left to pursue his own business once again.
Ken operates his own one man shop in Williamsburg, Virginia where he builds authentic eighteenth century reproductions , restores eighteenth and nineteenth century originals and continues his independent research of eighteenth century furniture and cabinetmaking. He maintains a working relationship with Colonial Williamsburg as a subcontractor. Ken's work has been featured in Fine Wood Working.
