Building a case piece involves several skills and many steps. Good casework requires detailed planning, skilled machining and joinery, and careful assembly. In this workshop learn all the necessary steps and techniques to produce a simple, basic cabinet. This is a course that teaches the skills needed to produce quality built-in cabinetry.
Learn how to cut miters, cut dadoes, and glue up a square structure. The carcase and base are made of cabinet-grade plywood with hardwood edging; suitable for painting. This course covers basic use of modern joinery techniques, including the use of both biscuits and pocket screws. Face frames and scribe strips are also covered.
Attend this course and take home a useful cabinet containing openings for a door and a drawer.
Taking this course, and also the Doors and Drawers Course, will give you the skills necessary to build a houseful of built-ins, from a library to an entertainment center to a kitchen.
