We all have our priceless keepsakes - objects with sentimental value that deserve a special place to keep them safe. Our keepsake box is perfect for storing and protecting those personal mementos and also makes a beautiful gift.
The solid-wood box looks great in a variety of wood species (butternut with a brown oak veneered top as shown). We choose the wood combination for each class, based on different species’ beauty and fine grain. We’ve been delighted with various combinations of walnut, butternut, cherry, red oak, maple, and several others. It measures approximately 9” x 7” x 3”. Mitered corners feature “keys”, which decorate the joint while adding strength. The box introduces veneering and edge-gluing techniques The methods used to make the project help assure a high level of craftsmanship and can easily be applied to future woodworking projects. Beginners as well as those with woodworking experience can complete the project during the course of the class.
Cost includes all materials.
